What does it mean to be "shoot ready"?

We want your property to look its best. To look the best possible requires preparation before hand. Follow these guide points to help us help you make your property be reflected the best in photos.
Note: If you are an agent, please share this list with your clients.

  • Ensure no contractors or other scheduled workers will conflict with the scheduled shoot time. Be sure to also check if any contractors have left work materials or equipment on-site.

  • Ensure all light fixtures are operational, and replace burnt out bulbs. As photographers, we need as much control of light sources as possible to capture a solid photo. Ensuring functional lighting is the best way to showcase the home.

  • De-clutter rooms. Paint supplies, screws/nails, curtain rods, etc. All should be put into cabinets, cupboards, or closets. Pay attention to what is excessive in furnished/decorated rooms.

  • Wipe down countertops, mirrors, and other reflective surfaces. Smudges, smears, and spots will show in the eye of the camera; therefore will also show in the final image. Attention to these small details will help make your photos standout.

  • Personal items (clothes, grooming products, pictures, etc.) should be put away out of sight. If unable to remove completely, aim for a clean and tidy appearance.

  • Clear off items from refrigerator. We understand the convenience of posting items on a refrigerator, but it clutters and attracts the eye of viewers.

  • Remove gardening tools and supplies from sight outdoors. Put in a shed or garage. If unable to do so, put near AC unit outdoors because we won’t photograph that.

  • Move garbage cans. They can be moved into the garage.

  • Sweep/blow driveways, walkways, and patios clear of natural debris. It only takes a few leaves, sticks, or pine cones to add seemingly “massive” amounts of visual clutter.

  • Remove vehicles from property. Consider parking down the street to keep the front clean. When we shoot indoor-to-outdoor, not having the cars keeps the yard and street front free of distractions.

We are not a cleaning crew, or a moving operation, but will make minor adjustments to a room if needed to make the scene look its best given circumstances. We will not move contractor tools or materials. We will contact if we arrive to a property and there is too much to be moved/staged for clean photos. At this time, we will inquire if the photoshoot is to proceed with everything "as is" or cancel/reschedule the photoshoot.

Read over our Terms and Conditions for details.
